What is a bootrom exploit?

A bootrom exploit is an exploit that cannot be patched & it allows users of said device to gain root access or (escalated privileges) this basically allows the user or somebody else
to do whatever they like on it here's an example it allows a user to install android on their iphone normally this isn't possible, apple locks down
the Iphone to run IOS only
